Hot Drinks?
Anyone here like to take a thermos with a hot drink with them when they ice climb? If so, what's your favorite drink to put in the thermos? |
Tea--herbal or caffeinated depending on the day. |
Creamy chai with a lot of honey. And hot water with electrolyte + emergen-C |
"Hot Scratch" - scratchlabs. Any flavor they are all good. Or chai tea with way to much honey. |
Tea with plenty of sugar for some energy. I have seen people with weird concoctions of melted mars bars in sugary hot drinks. Not for me. |
Bullion cube...not sure how to spell it. the thing you put to give flavor to soup. |
Hot Gatorade. Don't laugh. |
Honey and a Nun tablet |
Darawrote: Warm Gatorade is a common SAR beverage for cold people. It can really pep you up when you're frozen to the bone |
Chai tea with condensed milk or apple cider. |
Of late I've been slicing up a good sized chunk of ginger and adding lemon juice, honey, and green tea for a bit of caffeine. |

Miso |

Coffee for long days. Apple Cider otherwise. |
Spiced apple cider. Partial to those Aspen mixes to put in cider. Not as messy as cocoa, not as bowel clenching as coffee. Add a splash of some rum or brandy and it’s dang near perfect |
Hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps or tea with cinnamon schnapps. |
I make a mix of honey, ginger and lemon juice in hot water for cold days bouldering. |
Cider with a couple shots of bourbon |
Chicken broth or beef broth. Or just Peet's coffee if I need energy. |
A mix of green and earl grey tea with tons o honey. |
