What is the current preferred guidebook for Jtree? Trad routes. Don't care for bouldering.

Is it possible to buy Joshua Tree Climbs online anywhere?

Nomad Ventures might sell you one over the phone and mail it you. They were doing that during spring and summer when they were closed for in-person shopping.

I believe he was asking about Joshua Tree Climbs by Randy Vogel, which is sold out at most/all online stores. Must be a good book

I've got both the Vogel and Miramontes. I prefer the latter. Love how they organize the best routes by grade in the back. For me the other big feature I use most is it lists shade/sun for all the walls which are helpful when its 100 degrees and you can only climb in sun or when its 50 degrees and you need that sunshine!

@Randy: I couldn't google up the history or reason-- whatever happened to your planned Central and Eastern JTree books?

@OP: To answer the OP (albeit late but perhaps helpful for others)-- as a newer outdoor climber, I went with Miramontes as my primary resource and complementing heavily with Gordon for sports climbs within areas of interest.

I have a copy of Trad Guide to narrow down and plan around the moderate classics (as a first step in trip-planning). I have Vogel West old Vogel JTree book as supplemental reference for planning-from-home that I don't take-to-trip.

Anyone ever get an answer to the status of future "Central" and "Eastern" guidebooks? Thanks all!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
