Harness Shorts

Looks interesting, anyone use them? |

Never tried it. Dynastar use to have ski pants with integrated harness as well. I don't really understand the product, what are the avantages? Why buy this? |

It could be useful for someone with a training program that involves going from routes to bouldering in the gym a lot. Maybe they’re really comfortable for redpoint attempts? |

this topic comes up every year or so, do a search on it. They're amazingly comfortable, albeit a tad pricey. Half off is reasonable for one pair, though I don't know if I'd ever climb outside in them. It feels like sitting in a hammock when you're being lowered, so that's kinda nice, but to climb out side you'd want the new ones, with double (4 total) gear loops, as the old ones (which I scored cheap) only have one gear loop each side, so sorta not as workable for gear routes. Wonderful in the gym though. |

There's a similar product in the kiteboarding world: http://www.adventurekiteboarding.com/2020-np-cabrinha-tracker-boardshort-harness/?sku=XL-03DFB1F0&gclid=Cj0KCQiAkuP9BRCkARIsAKGLE8VDfr4dPPxWH0k1LJTdOX6bzYrixHQLeBs4p6BmJUiws9bMGr18R2oaAnqtEALw_wcB It's a bit like one of those little CRT-TV's from the 80's/90's with the built in VCR. Useful in a dorm room, but looks a bit dated later on. In the kiteboarding context, this means you can't use it with a wetsuit, nor can you remove your harness without getting bottomless in a parking lot. Similarly, unless you are going to put on this thing at home, and then drive/bike/walk to the gym crag... it makes me wonder what the order of operations might look like. Are you gonna go get a cheeseburger afterwards with friends while still wearing sweaty padded thing? |

I’ve heard it’s Tradiban’s choice of harness behind the swami belt. |

I met a guy who was a type 1 diabetic, the pants version of these was the only harness that didn't interfere with his insulin pump. |

I think I’ve seen Jakob Schubert using these a time or two |
