Blair Woods - road/parking - Winter?

Hey all - Does the Blair Woods parking at Fundy Boat Launch stay open in the winter?

I’ve been there in the winter. The road is pretty icy / snowy from the last turn, and the parking lot can also be icy. Winter tires would be nice to have. Not sure if there have been any changes in policy since last year, though.

The road is not plowed or maintained in winter. While people do drive down (myself included), I've seen people get stuck on the ice on the road and parking area.

I think it normally gets rutted out from all the Snowmobilers who go there, so hit or miss without 4x4 

Any thoughts on whether a Subaru WRX would make it?  I suppose the road isn't steep enough to give the AWD trouble, but I worry about clearance when you talk about ruts and icing of them.

I've got a Subaru Forester and clearance is sometimes an issue. And it has been dicey a few times getting back up the entrance hill. Never gotten stuck but it has made me avoid going back in certain conditions.

I made it in and out of there last winter with my 19 year old Mazda Protege, with a decent amount of ice on the ground but not many ruts. Wasn't my favorite drive but it was fine. No clue whether it'll be open this winter or not

I took my car out there last winter as well. Ruts were deep. I chose a line in between the frozen ruts and went with it. I made it but never went back that winter. It was too sketchy and way too easy to get in a bad situation. Basically the deeper the snow the dicier the drive down to the boat ramp. Like Rick said the road isn’t maintained in winter and I bet it stays that way.  Late winter is Lincoln Woods season anyway. 

Anyone been out to Blair?  Curious if it's decent now that the rain came through and melted a lot the past few days..
