* I'm 66 and right now my elbows burn when I pick up a box. Exercise, pressure point bands, and PT are providing only modest improvement. * I don't have a regular partner and frankly I'm semi-terrified of finding one thanks to the number of threads/comments that so casually ask about or refer to the number of times they've been dropped by belayers. I learned to climb in the early 70's - that shit happened maybe once in 5-10 years and was considered a major outlier. Now some seem to think it's considered a part of climbing. (And for those of you who think it normal, a special comment: fuck you.) |

Jesse Martinwrote: Do you think climbers spend a lot of time talking about gear? Seems like beginners with some experience are usually focused more on gear than those who have been climbing a while and just want to get after it. It's usually what to take and what to leave behind with my partners, or specific applications for certain equipment and pleading our respective cases. If they want to bring stuff we don't need (which is fine!) I make it clear I'm not going to use or hump it. |

Jesse Martinwrote: Having spanned both worlds extensively I can tell you that climbers geek way harder on your gear because it's usually safety related, while with MTB it's all vanity and all they know about their gear is the price and how much it weighs. |

Well, MTBers talk about gears more than climbers |
