recommendations for a 30" down pant (full-zip)?

I'm looking for some full-zip down pants but everything seems to be either $300 or only available in 32" inseam. Anyone got tips? |

I have the Montbell Tec Down pants https://www.montbell.us/products/disp.php?cat_id=25044&p_id=2301208&gen_cd=1 They are light enough to carry around for winter overnights and have a lot of features. Full side zips, two zip pockets, zip fly for easy entry and a heavier fabric in high wear zones. Not sure about the inseam though |

Gunkiemikewrote: Puffy pants are usually worn under an outer layer. If they’re bunched up it ends up being a real PITA. Worn as an outer layer with crampons, bunchy ankles render the abrasion patches useless and they’ll get ripped up. I don’t have any problem doing that with a hard shell pant since the material is tougher even though the bunchy ankles still get in the way. Alterations are not really an option with full length zippers and abrasion patches. Short people are definitely at a disadvantage in this regard. |

This brand “Naturehike” has a decent following among the budget ultralight hiking community. I haven’t tried any of their products myself, but I have a few Chinese brand down sleeping bags, and the quality/price ratio is astounding. Edit: no idea why the link won’t work, copy and paste or just search for yourself on AliExpress. Fucking knockoffs. |

I had the same issue when looking. Ended up just sucking it up with a cheaper synthetic insulated option but not totally satisfied. So +1 for asking this question and I’ll probably come back to the responses once I get too fed up with these |

This place will make you some custom pantaloons: https://goosefeetgear.com/#products Don't get fooled by the price, it's like buying a BMW. |

Bd belay pants are nice too. I have a 30 in inseam and they seam fine. Long enough that they don’t go above the boot if I pick my knee up. Synthetic insulation tho |

bishop triphosphatewrote: MH Compressors. I found a very good deal on them. It’s not that they’re bad pants, and I appreciate where they added extra durability, but they don’t compact down well because of that, and are also on the heavier side. I’ve also use Rab argons which compact much better (down), but the fit was super baggy and long. The compressors are more like a 31 or maybe 31.5 inseam. They’re long, but just borderline acceptable to me since I’m normally wearing big boots with them |
