There are two models of our 12mm twisted bolt. On the European ones the shaft is pulled down to 11.8 mm (if it wasn't you would never get it into a 12mm drill hole) and 10mm from the eye they are no longer reduced but have a slight gap to measure 12,3mm to give an 7dinterference fit for the last bit.

For the US the shaft is the same but 20mm from the eye the legs start seperating and 10mm from the eye measures 13,5mm to give an interference fit in a 1/2" hole.

The interference is only intended to hold the bolt in place, they are not pitons!

another +1 for dave/ jim and twist bolts, also kevin and tai at Fixe!

a 12mm hole with an interference bolt will leave the 'hanger'/eye sticking away from the rock around a 1/3" +/-

from what i gather from previous communication with jim (maybe he can chime in on this), this is probably not a problem in terms of final (glue set) strength (since the eye will deform anyway under heavy load), BUT it is definitely weird to look at especially from a regular climber population standpoint (many of whom aren't used to glue ins).

You're supposed to hammer it in the last 1/3" so the eye is flush!

And use a plastic mallet. A steel hammer  on stainless causes rust on the bolt.

I use a wood block with a loop of string to clip to my harness so I can use any hammer. Beats buying a stainless hammer or carrying two around.

I don't quite understand why you are trying to fit something intended for a 1/2" hole into a 12mm one.

when you think you've got a 1/2 bit in your drill and you actually have a 12mm ;-)

or

you think you've got a 12mm (euro) version, but actually have a 1/2 (us) version of the bolt - they're not marked

I have placed a number of these US version bolts in 12mm holes without knowing there was a change. Not a big deal. I reamed the beginning of the hole a bit. I always break the bottom edge of the hole so the radius of the "hanger" does not make the bolt stick out. A test fit of a glue in bolt is a good idea. Except a wave bolt. For them the first 1.5" is 9/16".

I just got my order from team tough.  The box was resealed and I am missing four bolts from my order.. Any advice?   I am going to get in contact with team tough but I was just seeing if anyone has dealt with this before.

Sounds like a shipping problem, but contact Dave and let him know, he's a good guy.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
