Lander has a couple coffee shops, but no real roasters as far as I know. Population less than 20k but gets a healthy flow of tourist.

I haven't been able to find any lease space there on the web.

I would contact a local realtor. There definitely is some availability here

No man but there are lots of micro roasters.  Its one reason I feel we must establish a brick and mortar location.

Have you thought about Strawberry, CA (aka Lover’s Leap)? it would be a great way to add some more revenue to the tiny town and also be great for climbers there, not to mention it would catch all of the Bay Area traffic going to Lake Tahoe. Honestly check out any of the little towns along the highway 50 corridor (Kyburz, Silverfork, Strawberry, Twin Bridges).

Yes - youre too far north. Baker City. It’s charm downtown core is off the hook and untapped. Life there is authentic, and cheap.  You’ll have Barley Browns and Lone Pine Cafe as business neighbors and your choice of empty nat’l historic properties to build out. Unfortunately it’s starting to gentrify. Fortunately, it’s still too real for aristocratic mountain culture to fully invade. High desert rangeland with two mtn ranges. Hells Canyon is legit but wont pass the stoke test for some types.

Baker City is the kind of place that’ll land you in sunset mag as being “the first...”

Edit: if you’re a gaslit white liberal, it wont work. If you’re a leftist progressive at peace with good, bad, and ugly of The West, you’ll find a strong community.

I was just saying this morning that this town needs a good coffee roaster.  Sunland, California, a mountain town on the edge of Los Angeles. Big city cash flow, right next to the National Forest, all of the great California climbing in easy driving distance.

Here is a decent spot in the center of town next to a popular bakery/cafe: loopnet.com/Listing/8325-83…

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
