Best Multi-pitch Climbing Speaker
|
|
Hey all, I've been doing a lot of multipitch, simul climbing lately at Smith Rock and I'm in search of a speaker to bring with me. What speakers do you guys bring with you when you multipitch? My iPhone isn't quite loud enough for both me and my follower to hear. Ideally I'm looking for something that I can clip to my harness, or can fit in a small pack (and has solid battery life). Any suggestions are appreciated! |

Make sure it’s loud enough for the whole crag to hear, everyone loves your taste in music. |

Are talking public engagements in large venues, television or more personal gatherings, corp. team building and such? |

Ask the Duck...he knows best. |

6/10. +1 for the simul climbing flex. |

And let's not be haters. Climbing while listening to music is excellent. I don't play it around people that would be bothered by it. I am asking about a speaker because it's hard to hear my follower when I'm wearing airpods. |

This begs the question: When someone yells "Rock!" do you change your Spotify playlist or do you duck? |

In the event of a team-troll, do both parties get full points or is it one pot divided between the trolling team? |

I’ll sell ya this rack cheap. Ripped it right off the motherf@$ker‘s wake boat that trashed my evening slalom water last week. Great for multipitch...focus the right side on lower pitches, and focus the left side on the upper pitches. Perfect for Smith...jus’ leave it there. No hauling Back and forth. |

Call me old fashioned, but I'm partial to headphones when climbing longer routes. I worry about bass boosted bops vibrating loose rock off the wall and bonking my belayer below. Of course I'm also a true firm believer in becoming one with my partner, so I obviously want to be listening to the same tunes as them. Lately I've been experimenting with linking four 15m aux extenders to one another and plugging it into a headphone splitter. The 60m super-cable also serves as an ultralight tagline alternative for any long raps. |

The Duck is a reference to Werner Braun and the speaker is a reference to the photo of him carrying a boombox while soloing a Valley classic route. Hi Roots... |

By far the best speaker for the outdoors is the one you leave at home. |

You want to get on eBay and purchase one of these. When you get the inspiration, you can lay down your own synth leads in the middle of the songs. |

Thanks phylp. Back in those days it was mostly Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd. I loved listening to Pink Floyd on those El Cap bivys. |
