Just curious how many SOCOM alumni we have on the forum...I am learning about more and more every day :-D I am one myself circa 80'-90's

Sound off if you came under the special operations command umbrella...unless you would have to kill us if you told us

I've played a bunch of Tom Clancy video games, does that count?

Kidding, of course, but thank you for your service.

I climb with several 18 series buddies, but none of them are on MP to my knowledge. And have climbed with one SFOD-A fella, but we usually spend more time at the range than on the rocks.

How long do you think the name "Bragg" or "Benning" or "Rucker" will be around on Army posts?  Makes no difference to me, but the way things are going, most of the southern bases are looking at a name change in the coming years.

Mark, that means the mob will be looking into everything you have ever done, and then declare you a racist for once standing next to lawn jockey...

Fort Mickey or Fort Sharkey.

I'm of the opinion at this point that all, if not most, of the confederate statues need to come down, as most where sponsored by the Daughters of the confederacy propaganda campaign to make the confederate sound more genital and idealistic than it actually was and/or flat out intimidate African-Americans.

That being said, I do not mean, the mob should go pull them down.  It should be done by rule of law and order.  and if you are out pulling down a statue of an abolitionist you are a complete fuckin retard.

the Base names I'm kind of torn on, especially having spend most of my mil career at Bragg (hell all 4 of my kids were born at Womack).  I think the men and women that are stationed at Bragg have more that transcended the base's name sake in every way possible.

What about Pope AFB?  I spent years of my life in those rigger sheds doing pre-jump/pre-flight checks for my unit (and other visiting units). I have a love/hate relationship with Bragg...hated doing most of the stuff, love reminiscing about it.  I personally don't care if I ever see Sicily, Nijmegen, St. Mere Eglise  ever again...I left a lot of knee cartilage on those DZ's.

lmao!  Same on those DZ  I've got an entire page of my jump log that is nothing but N/MT/CE Holland DZ when I was in 1BDE 82d before moving over to SOF and nothing but -1C and SF-10s

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
