LOST in Sierra National Forest: Blue Camera Case with small Point & Shoot Digital Canon Camera and Camera Cards - If Found please call/email 925-687-6061 godars@yahoo.com.
Of greatest value to us are the years of many family and trip photos recorded on them. We suspect having left it Sunday, July 5, after 7PM on Beasore Road at the dirt park pull out across from Tempest Dome (Dome east of Golden Toad) on the Southern Yosemite/Sierra Vista Scenic Highway Loop. Another possibility is in the upper parking for Nightwatch Dome.

The Sierra National Forest is a large area. Any hints?

Maybe you posted before I finished my original post. But if unclear, here's more though mostly repetitious: We were at The Balls, parked on Beasore Road at the dirt park pull out across from Tempest Dome (Dome east of Golden Toad). This is just a mile or so from Bowler Campground. We posted a lost note on the community board there too.  Beasore Road and Minarets Road make up the Southern Yosemite/Sierra Vista Scenic Highway Loop. Another possibility is in the upper parking for Nightwatch Dome  (ND). ND is just west of the Golden Toad (GT) dome. Anyways, thanks for your post.

Hi Susan, by coincidence yesterday  we  have  been first time in Balls area, specifically looking for Nightwatch Dome 5.10 route and did not climb it , but went to other dome [ do not know the mane] which close to the road and have several tightly bolted easy routes [ close to  Bowler Campground] Anyway - we did not find your camera , but we did not know where to look. It is possible that in two weeks we go there again, and if I have better know where to look - I can be more helpful. I assume that you are SuSU from ST and we personally know each other.

Hi Alexey - So kind of you to chime in and think of us and try and help. It is much appreciated! We scoured the areas where we thought we lost it, but no luck.

Wow it's great to hear you two are getting out there to these places. Did you climb at Boulder Garden Slabs which are left to right pretty much all slab climbing? Or did you go to a dome that on climber's left has slab first pitches, then midway has slab that get steeper in spots and is mostly sport but some mixed, with the area on the upper right steeper sport?

How did you get out there - via Minaret's Road or per chance Beasore Road? It is such a long way around if you get to Beasore and find it closed like it is supposed to be for road work. So just curious if you know something we do not know about whether work is proceeding there and when, if it could only still be open.

I hope to get back out there soon and would be great to see you two. Maybe have an after climbing hangout session like used to happen at Reeds.... sunny memories those!

Susan, Nice to see that our path crossing again. I was exited to be this Spring/Summer  in Shuteye - it would never happen without coronavirus closure of Yosemity.

the Balls area how we discovered  was absolutely unexpected - it just appeared next to the road, we did not expect to see anything like this , no previous knowledge at all. I will just email you via MP to talk about this area .  Like " Did you climb at Boulder Garden Slabs" -I can not answer where we climb but I would like to know.

we came there via Minaret's Road and than we we drive home - Google navigator took us back  Bayshore road which have new pavement until dead end. We planning to go there again and maybe we can better look for the camera. Cheers!

What a great way to find this place! Except for having to turnaround at the dead end and go back the longest way. I always wonder about the side roads for possible circumnavigation but probably not advisable without time to explore. Also, must travel with chainsaw these days. There would probably be at least one creek crossing as well if it is even possible to get around that construction project/temporary dead end. Well would love to discuss the area some more if interested and will send John's and my emails to you. s.
