Even though it’s rated to 3kn I’d still place it and have something rather than nothing.

I completely agree I would rather have something keeping me off the deck than nothing.

But why buy that when a Z4 or a Dragonfly is rated for a fall? Theres no way it's significant of enough size difference to need that over the tiny green Dragonfly.

*edit* - didnt know what "zero" you all were referring to.

Tradeoff between range versus holding force. Dragonfly holds 1Kn more then the Z4.

Yep but bd claims to rate conservatively. I saw a qc article that had the average minimum breaking strength over six so....

You can’t  buy that tho it has been discontinued/retired for years.

What are you talking about?

Ahhh. Thought we were talking about the new ones. Didnt check the specs, and didnt realize there was a difference in the name. Sorry about that.

I was just speaking generally, not about a specific piece of pro.   I’ve always subscribed to the idea that something is better than nothing.   I usually don’t carry super small micro cams but will in occasion, even if the cam or nut has a low rating there is still a chance it might hold, it will definitely hold better than no cam or nut.

I would say screw it and just use the blue ULMC, but the z4 is uniquely sized, just smaller than a c4 but bigger than an ULMC. Can’t have too much variety in that size, especially on Wingate.

someone in another thread mentioned having heard form BD customer service that they expected to have stock back between mid-July and end of July.

I ordered a 0.3 in March. BD customer service told me that some Z4 stock would be available mid July, and all cam stocks should be recovered by August.

Managed to find # 0.5 et 0.75  at ClimbOn in Squamish last week. No smaller sizes though.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
