Helicopter Rescue @ J Tree Yesterday.
|
|
Climbed @ Joshua Tree yesterday. In the afternoon, we went to park @ Echo Lot. The rangers had it blocked off. We saw numerous sirens, medic lights, & a rescue chopper take off from the fire trucks. Is the person OK? |

This should be part of any aspiring Double Cross leaders rack. Until that bolt stops getting chopped I’ll be bringing this to get past the terrifying start. |

Bump..I guess the climber didn’t ride the range (get the chop) or we’d see something in the the media. |

Dave shows how easy it is. Except nobody says you can't stack pro. No body says you can't put a runner on the lower piece so that the top limits the fall and the lower one is back up and extended to limit the chance of being pulled straight out as you pass during the fall. Even if your belayer is too far away. Basic rock craft. |

I was there by myself eating lunch waiting for some friends when it happened a family of hikers was scrambling and an elderly lady I think she was 70 fell into a chasm between some rocks. A lady came around the corner of echo rock saying she needed help that someone had fell. I immediately grabbed gear and ran out to see wasn’t much I could do she was hurt bad with a head Injury and I’m sure more. We got Sar out there quick and after seeing her condition they decided she needed a helicopter I hope she was ok.... |

I truely hope the elderly lady recovers. Thanks, Jens and Matt, for sharing. |

I wish her a good recovery. |

Why did the Double Cross the road? |

Right, Eleanor, that justifies ignoring the feelings of the injured and grieving. You want to get out ahead of the facts, so you don't miss the ambulance. Better to be an internet clown then show your sensitive caring side. |

I’m willing to cut Kevin, Russ and Mark some slack. Elderly gentleman have to see the humor in every situation or they would’t have the will to get out of bed in the morning.
Signed, an elderly Lady |

Why was a 70 year old woman climbing Double Cross? |

I do apologize for my part, I do hope she recovers. |

I was going to hope for the woman's partial recovery; however, I think you are right, and I am going to hope for her complete recovery, too! |
