It's sad that Socal still has issues getting people to stay the fuck home at this point in the story...

Jtree is like 2 to 3 hours from LA.

What is the operational definition of "Local"?

Back in VA we were "local" climbers even though the New was 2.5 hours away.

If by traveling to get there you would use a different hospital or grocery store than you would at home, you've gone too far. Local right now doesn't mean "wake up early for a day trip" it means, "roll out of bed and walk there".

If you need to ask yourself the question, you're not local.

Couldn't Joe be creating a dangerous situation by removing the hangers that people expect to be there?!

Holy crap, that seems like a drastic thing to do.  This "stay home" thing is becoming a witch hunt.

If you live two and a half hours away from something its not local.
Even if you took a bike.

This is the new tribalism.  And it's getting ugly.

Yikes. If there are no good gear options and nobody knows, the FA could really be putting people at risk. Very different types of danger but seems a little counter productive if it's being done for people's well being...

I thought we always argued that the FA had the final decision of what happened with the route?

sounds like an empty threat

Only really putting people at risk who are not willing to sacrifice their gear... a climber could alway lower off his/her draws, head home, and commence licking of wounds.
