PSA: You didn't do an FA
With the pandemic releasing the hordes from gyms and scattering beginners to little-documented areas there have been a rash of V1 "first ascents" posted to Mountain Project in the past few weeks. Just a PSA, the undocumented choss pile you found has probably been climbed off and on for decades. The V-easy you did next to a classic V5 is probably a standard warmup even if no one has bothered listing it on the proj before. Putting your name, your friend's name, or the date in the FA box just makes you look like a noob. It's fine to give your discovery a creative name, but just leave the FA box blank. |

I didn't onsight it either but it's not gonna stop me from ticking it that way |

Nobody cares either way |
Sounds like someone snaked your V1 proj huh Bryce? |
Who cares. Let them do them and if the FA cares, they can PM to make the change. |
What if it diagonals across an existing line, uses no new holds, but then you call certain holds "off". Totally an FA right? |
“But bro.. there wasn’t even any chalk on it so it’s definitely an FA!!” |
What if you *hypothetically* chipped the holds onto a blank/crumbling boulder? |
What if someone ticks one of these boulders but they didn't actually send?? |
Pfft .. Every problem has been done before, but it hasn’t been done by you! |
Gonna be famous bruh. Historical even! |

Same with rock city, come on people, do some research. Does this qualify as "legendary drama" in the Kansas climbing scene? |
