Too many climbers not practicing social separation

Whatever happens, my finger strength will be off the charts! I've never done so much hang-boarding in my entire life. Self quarantine might end up being a huge silver lining for me. |

Atleast there are REI employee telling people there is nothing wrong with traveling to “mountain” towns like North Conway and others that rely on the outdoor industry. Wonder how they feel about this as a company (I sent them an Email)? |

Its the people in my life who are at risk. My sister got H1n1, one of those things no one thought was a big deal. it nearly killed her. She is a brilliant neuroscientist and my best friend. We (collectively as humans) need people like her. |

Rolf Rybak wrote: This isn't a time to be focused on your own selfish needs, using school and business closures to ignore social separation as recommended by leading health authorities. It's not about your ability to fight off COVID 19, it's about slowing the spread by flattening the curve, only possible through social separation. And just who are you to be judging their characters? You know all these people personally do you? The article is patently a diatribe, full of sanctimony bolstered by exaggeration and innuendo. |

Had to bust on you though, mainly because in the last week here in this small town Maine we had a PHD who works at a local laboratory send a letter (on lab letterhead)to the town/school explaining how they should be handling this pandemic. He ended up having to apologize to everyone including his employer because he is a statistician and has never studied epidemiology in his life. |

Marc801 C wrote: This applies to Carbon and Emery counties as well. I think closing Carbon and Emery as well is beyond pointless. Grand, I totally get. I was just in Moab for work and there were waaaay too many out oft owners who car camp and need to go to the grocery store in their RV every night and could be vectors for town. But Emery? The San Rafael Swell is absolutely massive and I could get so deep in there a ranger couldn't find me if they wanted to. Don't social distance by going to a place like Moab, but somewhere like the Swell is the perfect place. No visitors centers, minimal facilities(which I don't use anyway) and in the middle of nowhere! |

Other Other wrote: There is a flu vaccinne that people don't take. Per some BISHOP CA guys blog, the entire Eastside of the Sierra Nevada mountains is closed until all cheap real estate has been bought and the government checks cover the local crushed economy. Random online weirdos are threatening to blockade both directions of 395 highway. And the entire town of Bishop. Plus all boulders and Owens River Gorge. Also don't dare access any public lands, anywhere in America for 30 days. That may be extended to 90 days per the COVID 19 police. You must stay at least 1000 feet apart. No shopping anywhere. No spending money. Barter not OK. Seacrest out. Why do you keep posting this in every Covid thread? |

Was going to go climbing locally tomorrow. Then I read this article about how we might need to isolate for a year or more. |

I imagine Honnold is climbing, but that guy can truly social distance. |
