Does anyone know what the ice conditions are like in boulder canyon?  Thinking about going to the Bouldering Area tomorrow.

A little late in replying, but you’re probably better off driving past Boulder Canyon to the E Portal of Moffat Tunnel, where the ice phatter. What little ice there was in Boulder Cyn, near the Sport Park, doesn’t seem to form up much anymore...sign of the times.   —Rick

I seem to remember someone telling me that the aqueduct leak that fed that last remaining ice got patched recently.  I haven't seen it come in 2-3 years.  Sad, that was a fun little spot.

Side subject: when was the last time someone petitioned the city of boulder to poke a few holes in the duct for winter? Obviously proper harvesting would be in place. Thoughts?

The ill-fated aqueduct-leak-farmed ice will likely never be officially sanctioned by the city due to liability concerns and the lack of parking in the canyon. I never climbed it, but I understand it was pretty outstanding while it lasted.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
