Dex for house cats?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to summit all Cali 14ers this year, with my cat, Biner.  I'm concerned about the effects of altitude on a cat.  Does anyone you know if cats can take dex?  I've seen dogs go up Mt. Shasta, but I'm not sure if a cat would be able to handle it.

Just trying to be on the safe side.

DEX is great for house cats. Just shred and put in litter box. Chances are you neighbor hates their unwanted one, too, and will gladly give it to you.

way to think ahead!! Will you be carrying the little fluff ball in your pack or will he be on a leash? I like to hike with my cat but I don't use a leash. I have had 6 cats so far that hiked with me like that.

They certainly can. I'd also recommend bringing a few extra bumps of methamphetamines in case Mr. Fluffy gets a little too tired on the descent.

Cats fly in planes in the only partially pressurized cargo hold. I dont think 14k would be too much for a healthy cat. Your cat shouldn't need any drugs.

Unfortunately many of the fourteeners are in wilderness or national park and pets aren’t allowed

Ask your veterinarian.

What if its an emotional support animal?

Ok, good answers.  More importantly:
Does it count as aid if my cat uses dex?

Here's Biner:

He used to do meth when he lived on the streets but he's off it:

Still can't bring it on trails or basically anywhere off pavement or campgrounds. And it has to be leashed at all times.

I interpreted the title as dextromethorphan ... a robotripping cat would be a sight to behold.

I love cats, and Mr. Socks (landlord of Old Lady H) is my favorite.

It's only aid if Biner uses his claws.

He is adorable BTW.

Huh? Dextromethorphan is an OTC cough suppressant - it's the active ingredient in Robitussin. None of its side effects are hallucinogenic.

I would quite like to disagree as “dex” is what teenagers try to trip on in cough syrup.

Well worth the time to watch.  I’ve canceled my spot in an avalanche course.
