|

This is my second winter out here, and I'm looking for guide services for ice climbing and backcountry skiing. Anyone taken good intro courses or know of any great guiding services? |

I've had positive experiences with AAI; the particular guide with whom I've climbed now also works for International Alpine Guides. E.g. private ice climbing guiding in Lee Vining |

I'm an IFMGA guide, live in Mammoth and can help steer you in the right direction, if not directly then at least by recommending a great guide for your goals. Shoot me a PM. |

If I was looking for a guide this is the man I would want on my rope or ski adventure: Richard Shore. Richard has A very impressive resume as a guide, climber and skier he has put up many FA all over the High Sierra Bishop area. You can contact him here. |

^^^ Thanks for the kind words, Lon, but I am NOT a guide. Never have been and don't plan to be one. If you’re looking for a guide, reach out to Ryan Huetter above. He’s the man with all the proper credentials. |

I've used Ian McEleney with American Alpine Institute several times. Can't say enough good things about him. Great guy and very knowledgeable. He guides all those things. |

Ryan is a fantastic guide and teacher. I highly recommend him. Very adaptive to multiple learning styles, and fun to hang with in the back country. Again highly recommended for what your looking for. |
