Do all climbers...

You are way cooler if you stay active and get to teach your grandchildren how to climb than you are if you check out early in a blaze of glory... |

In 2019, unless you are from Europe, why are you smoking? I will say I think it sounds like you mean well. I’ve been sober almost 10 years now. As a middle aged adult I would say 95% of the people I encounter are able to enjoy a drink or a few, either daily or less often with no problems. Perhaps they are adding or shaving a few years off their life span.In any case, if i could interact with alcohol in that way I would. But that was never my experience. It doesn’t agree with me. With that taken into account I don’t have any right to tell other folks whether they should or should not drink, and how much is an appropriate amount. That ultimately looks to be a personal choice that people have to sort out for themselves. Marketing is powerful, but people can be as well. |

Most of us wouldn't exist if it wasn't for drugs and booze. |

I think many of us enjoyed various drugs when we were younger, and perhaps still do occasionally, but taper off as we age. I'm 65, and doing drugs had a kind of disappointing "been there, done that" feel the last time I did anything other than have a glass of wine or a beer. But I used to enjoy it all, back in the 1970's and early 1980's. |
