Hey Guys! I'm new to the area and I was wondering where id be able to get a bolting permit. Should i contact the WCA or go directly through the park service? Since its a state forest technically its fair use right? Do i even need a permit? I was hiking through the crag and i noticed very little development, so i figured it be a good idea to set a few lines up. Thoughts? Opinions?

Nice, I like this!

NO permit needed! Just haul your bolt gun out and have at it!

8/10.

Two points deducted because it's not in the TR clusterfuck thread.

There are no existing bolts at Devils Lake and none are allowed to be placed. Period.

You should start with Big Bud it's really high and scary.

Don’t waste your time with the WCA:  for permission you need to apply to the DLFA.

  1. Mine is getting close to retirement, but still gets used on occasion. The reversibility is key.

No permits necessary, I have bits, epoxy and glue ins (leftover from retro bolting efforts) to contribute.

Keep in mind that none of the locals actually lead anything, so they will go mostly unused.

The locals will pound pitons into your bolt hangers.

While on top rope.

They'll pound something into your something

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
