Really we couldn't even make it to 10 pages? let alone a "Bitter and Hostile Former Climbers Over 50 #2" |

Here's hoping the competitors learn to hand jam. Or let's hope they don't NAWMEAN? LOCALS ONLY! |

I’m sick and tired of all these “cam climbers.” Learn how to place REAL pro like a REAL climber. |

when I was your age we just draped the rope over horns... |

Former? What about us bitter and hostile CURRENT Climbers ? |

I'm not bitter or hostile but am over 50. And with 40 years of climbing I have earned the right to bitch a little... |

The kids should treat us with just as much respect as we showed our elders when we were their age! |

Know where the %^&* you are. So tired of having gumbies asking me what route I'm on! |

You all had giant ego's and masculinity issues (this is just one problem) BITD which helped contribute to many problems. Sweet grammar. Masculinity issues? LMAO. At least we didn't bail off sport routes, leave an entire quickdraw because we didn't have an ounce of prerequisite knowledge on how to get out of a situation when you can't go up anymore. Giant egos? Ever hear a fledgling gumby when they send their first plastic 40' "5.12"?? Hahahaha. You are a real live one.
Meaning... what exactly? That we should just ignore the completely preventable, self entitlement shitshow that has become the norm at climbing areas everywhere? No thanks. I prefer to address it. The sooner you stop letting the butt hurt coarse through your veins, your world will become a brighter place. The sooner your tribe of gumbos becomes self sufficient, does some research on best practices, LNT principles, learns to read a fucking guidebook, stops making the image of "being a climber" a priority and actually invests in the techniques and ropework that actually makes a climber proficient, and adopts some consideration for other people around them, then my world will become a brighter place. Being concerned about the state of things and addressing problems isn't called "butthurt". It's called being a steward. If you were one, you'd know. I am guessing you are not a very happy or pleasurable person to be around, although I could be mistaken. All of my partners are psyched to climb with me. I'm super safe, knowledgeable about all the areas I climb at, generous with my time and belays, generally have a good sense of humor, try hard, and encourage anyone with me to do the same. I give up my time to volunteer to teach folks that are eager to learn, and don't pass judgment with regard to skill and climb with men and women alike of different skill levels and tenure. You guess wrong. Just because I speak candidly and bluntly about the state of things and how much they bother me, doesn't mean that defines the entirety of my personality. It's probably easier for you to slap a label on me and write me off. You're more than welcome to do that as long as you realize that's not how most humans are and that classification you seem so eager to assign serves no other purpose than to make things easier for you.
Don't live anywhere near CO. Wrong again. If you were well traveled, you'd know these things are an epidemic at almost any popular, quality climbing area, and not just CO. |
