On Monday 9/16 Inyo SAR conducted a rescue on Mt. Emerson that involved fixing lines and leaving lots of gear. Inyo SAR will return to retrieve the left gear, but if you are climbing on Emerson please do not take the gear.

Thanks

Hope everyone is ok. Do you know if part of said gear were three new bolt stations??

Yes, two stations, two bolts atop the chimney at ~500’ and three bolts ~300’ higher. Do you have our locking biner, orange paint?

Would you share some details for future avoidance of similar?  We were up there a few weeks ago and are familiar with the route.

Bob,
When we were up there the bolted anchors were void of any gear I did however retrieve a 20 foot section of 1 inch red webbing  right next to the first bolted station.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
