Petzl Gully + pick weights?

Fellow gully lovers! Are any of you folks climbing with pick weights? I am hoping to give these little tools a bit more punch, does anybody have success with them?

Haha, nice! I've used my Gully a fair amount. I think if I wanted more "punch" I'd just move to a Sum'Tec or most likely my Grivel North Machine Carbons.... I bought the Gully to have a light piton driver and it's too light to really do that very well.

I've added pick weights to them, works well. (the masselottes can be put on without the need to drill anything)

I usually climb with North Machines, but I’m starting to really fall in love with the Gullies. I also have a Sumtec, but literally have never used it lol

I’ve used pick weights on my Gullies for moderate glacial ice. Worked well.

For those of you that have used added pick weights can you post some picks of how you attached them or describe what you did. Drill holes and use the Petzl Masselottes? My curiosity is perked! Thx.

The masselottes fit perfectly through the existing holes in the pick. No need to drill anything.

I have a pair of Gullies with pick weights.  They swing really nice into glacier ice but I can't say anything about how they feel on water ice.  They seem like they'd be the perfect pair for things like the North Ridge on Baker where there is a lot of carrying and very little real ice but for more sustained or harder ice then there are better tools.

They work well enough on water ice and alpine ice (with or without the pick weights).

I do prefer the swing with pick weights on the Gully.  Note that I do not prefer to add pick weights to other Petzl tools.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
