I've been doing it for years. It's simple. And when the TPR is back in business, it will be fun, too.

Me too, re. the Mobil.  The food is overrated and expensive.  Unless I spend $25, I leave hungry. Small fish tacos and salad for $16 isn't enough.....

The Mono Market in Lee Vining has fairly healthy take away food for a reasonable price, though they sometimes sell out.

Responding to the SEIR will do little if anything, that's why most people who comment on these documents are essentially voting as noted above.

The SEIR has already disclosed the significant impacts, so complaining about that will also be fruitless.  So what there's a significant visual impact.  They did their job by disclosing that fact.  Same goes for all the other significant impacts. In their response to any comments like this, they will simply refer you to the pages in the SEIR where the analysis is performed.

Any comments should revolve around real deficiencies in the analysis and SEIR. Is the mitigation proposed for the impact sufficient?  Are the impacts correctly analyzed? Is there an alternative  proposed that does not have significant impacts (beyond the No-Build)? Did they update all of their prior studies?  Have they violated case law? Etc.

CEQA is case law based, I suggest your organization hire a law firm adapt at CEQA and find the flaws and eventually file a law suit.

Poor dirtbags see development as positive?

Add toilets and user fees to a BLM area and they're up in arms!

Heaven for bid they can’t trample all the desert vegetation and shit everywhere around Bishop for free!

After this past winter I understand why they limit the amount of people and require guides in hueco. The general populace ignorantly destroys the ecosystem.

Tioga Pass Resort, 10 miles up 120 from the 395 junction.  With their location, they used to have an incredible backcountry ski operation, but due to septic problems no longer operate in the winter.  (Going a bit OT here, but bc skiers should check out "Big Sunday", January 15th, 2006 -  http://tahoebackcountry.net/features/tpr2006/tpr3.htm )

I like TPR.  They are rebuilding the lodge which was damaged by heavy snow a few winters ago. Not sure when they plan to re-open.

I love it when people who live 8 hours away chime in on a local development issue.

Just a reminder that today, 5 PM, is the last opportunity to submit a comment letter regarding the Draft SEIR for the Tioga Inn and it’s “unavoidable adverse impacts”.

Yesterday I received the following information from the Mono Lake Committee:

We have received notification that the Mono County Community Development Department will be accepting letters after the close of the comment period, though they are not required to do so.

Good news. Thank you Mono Lake Committee and others who got the word out.

Reading the comments here it seems that many folks here would benefit from a better understanding of development in the Mono Basin.
