They're building a park at the base of that thing?

Guaranteed people are going to mess up that access, be it climbers, or the hicks that 4wheel out there or dump trash.

"minimum of one year" sounds ominous. i'll set the over/under at 3.5 years.

as someone looking to break into 5.12 in southern california, this is devastating news to me. now i'm actually going to have to become a better climber to do it :(

Interesting development.... I think people will keep climbing at the Quarry.
Who is going to enforce this?
The same people who enforce the “no dumping” or the “no off-roading” ?

And I don’t think they will be able to build homes below the Q.... too much danger from falling rocks.

And from falling people :(

Sounds like a soft closure. No other single cliff in CA has more 5.12 or up routes. No single granite cliff in the US has more 5.12 or up routes (not even Colorado or El Cap)...although a few are close in terms of numbers. Let me guess, the access fund or AAC will spend 30 thousand on a pit toilet for some mediocre area but will do nothing for this gem.

If you are a free rider aspirant, every single crux can be found at this gem of a cliff.

Yikes, sorry, Benny! I'll let you take the honors of the jockstrap holding! PS I fucking love climbing at the Quarry. It's a quarry, so chip away!

Matt...chip all you want, it 's back stabbing that isn't acceptable. When you climb at the Quarry you stand on Louie's shoulders.

Hey Benjamin, in all seriousness, I love what Louie did there. Where did you get the idea I was stabbing anyone in the back? I was only poking fun. I've actually run into him a few times at his gym and he's a great guy. Peace!

Not at all. I've never climbed in TS but I can't see any reason why what he's done there is acceptable in any stretch.

They closed Riverside Quarry because it was discovered that Louie chipped the routes there?
