Or some examples of stiffer shoes with XS Grip rubber for indoor bouldering.

You can also just resole any shoe with xs grip

I'll try them out but I think I want strap over laces. Thanks

Womens miura vcs than.

Why do you want a stiff shoe on plastic though? The feet are bigger than the state of texas, get a soft shoe and build some foot strength. Even the smallest screw on jibs do not need an edging shoe. FWIW I train in dragos, testarossas are my sport shoe and I can comfortably stand on one foot on a dime edge crystal in them without fatigue in my arch. When I trained in stiffer shoes at the gym that wasn't possible.

Buy some LS Otaki's, climb them to a resole and resole them with XS Grip.  Those have got to be the stiffest velcro shoes on the market.

Womens Otaki comes with XS Grip so maybe just go for that?

This.

Why do you want XS Grip? It’s thin and soft and wears out fast. If you want a stiff shoe, get XS Edge. It’s still sticky and softens up plenty once you break in the shoe.

Check out Lowa's line. They tend to be super stiff, and feature grip, but the Women's Miura VS definitely fits the bill.

Why spend $$ on gym shoes? Those are what my old-outdoor-shoes-that-need-a-resole-and-I-don't-want-to-spend-the-money-on are for.

Soft rubber on a stiff shoe makes no sense. You get all the downsides of soft rubber (more deformation, less edging support) and stiff shoes (lack of sensitivity) and none of the positives..

Edit: oh wait this is for plastic...

Muir VS. But wanting a shoe that stiff for indoor bouldering is silly.

Miura VS has XS edge.

Women's miura VS has XS grip as does the Women's Otaki. Both are pretty stiff and downturned. I like the women's Otaki as an all around sport/bouldering shoe. You shouldn't limit yourself to men's shoes.

Testarossas are what I'd suggest too, but if you want velcro then it's Otakis if you're 42 or smaller, otherwise Solutions.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
