Looking at doing the Ellingwood arete route soonish, has anyone been up there recently? All the trip reports I've seen are from the standard routes of the Crestones, and are speculative that its dry, but no one seems very sure. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

IG chrisdtomer posted a picture of it yesterday.  Looks pretty damn dry.

Weather changes suddenly to the opposite direction a lot. I think Dry attracts Wet and Vice Versa. Dry reports now may mean moisure is coming. Check the conditions in your time frame to decide what to do. Being wary of wet conditions in that area is warranted. The area just East isn't called the Wet Mountains for nothing.  Torrential rains are not uncommen. The otherwise bomber rock is slippery cobbles then.

Pmd. Been here. Ready to go back. Wanted to climb the direct start on the ellingwood ledges route and then traverse over to crestone.

Just climbed Ellingwood last week. No snow on route until the descent from Broken Hand Pass back to Lower South Colony Lake.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
