But how is it that these posts specifically targeting Devin, which have spiraled in to full-on mocking and bullying, are not a violation of Guideline #1 ?

I would argue that it’s because Devin seems to be enjoying the attention.

This shit makes no sense.

Is the OP bragging about soloing a 25' 5.9- with a one move crux 12' off the ground?
I don't get it.

The 1974 American Alpine Journal has a photo taken by Galen Rowell of "a mountain goat climbing an F9 pitch, 200 feet above the ground on Mount Harrison Smith", in the Cirque of the Unclimbables.  F9 is 5.9+

See the story here and scroll down to Plate 32 for the photo of the goat on steep terrain.

Not once did I say I wouldn’t reply anymore, I said I’ve completed my reponding (reflooding) of this forum after last one got shut down w/o a peep from me. I don’t care to respond to anything other than my climbing ability b/c trying to crucify me for bogus allegations won’t do anything to affect my life so why should I bother trying to defend/reply? I’m sure none of you where leading anything while as novice a climber as I was so trying to mock me for commenting on how slick/polished Jamcrack was but still onsighting doesn’t phase me at all. Literally no insult you can hurl at me can b/c I’d never take criticism from someone I wouldn’t take advice from & I couldn’t from anyone on here b/c you’re too simple-minded to realize ..
What power do any of you have to impact me whatsoever? Whether you believe I’m innocent or not, absolutely none. All of you on here are fighting a pointless battle while I’m still enjoying my life as I have been. Likely most are just bored at some dead-end job or crummy home. I’m sure majority of you would comment on any topic that had this much attention just in hopes of upvotes making you feel cool/liked .. meanwhile I prefer to get my stoke from real life encounters so carry on on MP I keep living the Valley good life w/ the right people & replying to imbiciles at my convenience in between sends.

They are, but if no one is flagging them, they remain. It's not like Nick and the MP Team read every single post.

It’s about to be one defending 5.9 hand jams! Obviously nobody on hear has ever led above 5.9 for their first trad lead so all comments are pointless. So the longest thread will have been pointless.

On a real note I think the SoCal climbers over 50 page is far longer than this one will ever make it.
Edited: they’re on Pg. 14 but it’s the 7th thread...

You'd better tick those sends or they don't count. You haven't done Grant's in a couple of days. Get back at it you slacker.

Please tell me which sweet ass benefits and retirement package come with being a freelance code writer? On top of that a crumby home in CA most likely has more value than a cave in the Valley. Cheers to SOLID JAMS, I mean life decisions.

How many days has it been thus far that Devin has succeeded in outsmarting the LEO's while soloing Grants crack and memeing on here?

Also where is our angry judge and jury boy? I need him to hint at wrong doing and threaten screenshots, I feel like the thread is losing steam.

Apparently you've never actually been to "The Valley."  So choked with clueless Tourons...enjoy that.

A big smoke filled valley is all it is.

I heard since the big movies came out the tourons are paying to get up El Cap like the Everest tourons. Ascenders are a hot commodity in the valley.

Lolol bro you really think anyone’s jealous of you living in that buzzard jam of tourists under a rock in the woods? I just finished eating sushi and I’m about to go swimming in my pool at my crummy house. Might even hit some of that fine Woodson granite afterwards. I hope you got health insurance bud, enjoy your stolen pizza from the deg.

As a n00b gaper, you think living in the ditch is paradise. Then you go do it for a season or three. Your illusions are quickly shattered.

Living in the valley sucks for at least 7mo of the year. Kind of nice down at Arch on the those mid-winter days when the sun is blasting, and the snow keeps everyone away. The good climbing season is about 2 mo long in the fall before the first death storm arrives, with scattered nice days here and there otherwise. Wet routes in the spring, hot smokey and choked beyond capacity from May-Sept.  Grocery prices are outrageous, the LEO rangers are dicks, the camping scene is a cluster, all but about a dozen jobs in the entire place are menial bullshit for povery pay. Soon, you find it's more appealing to lay by the river drinking Cobras and OldE tallboys at 7am than spend another day greasing out of cracks that are hotter than the surface of the sun.

You get tired of the same repetitive stories in the Caf every morning, from the same waster bums who have no way out. The posing, the bridge clownshow, the 19yos trying to emulate the scene of the 80s that isn't feasible anymore and was never attractive in the first place, the same lame slide shows and the 8,237th showing of some film with Ron Kauk chanting Om and playing the Pan Flute while sounding like a LA Hipster "life coach" after a few too many peyote trips.

It's amazing once you're off the ground on a route obscure enough or hard enough to keep the hordes away, during the brief period said routes are in condition. Other than that, it blows. Gorgeous, inspiring, and a total festering shithole all wrapped into one. Have fun, kids.
