Offset cams- what do you like

When I grab mine off my rack they always have the small lobes on the bottom. I used my partners rack, he wears his rack on the left, but I wear mine on the right. Whenever I grab an offset from his rack the big lobes are on the bottom and they don’t work as well.

Is that like when you grab a nail and the head is on the wrong end and it’s for the other side of the house? Happens to me all the time!

Don’t you just turn the cam around?   Cam lobes  are arranged in-line not too to bottom.  Depending on how the cam was put together sometimes you can have the same size but the lobes were arranged in a different order and that can make a difference in a good placement or marginal.

Your statement sounds like you are trying to place your off sets large lobes first,  that’s just a matter of turning it around.

Reminds me of the time I ordered soup in a restaurant and they brought me a convex spoon. Couldn't eat a damn thing!

Oh this is just because he's using left-handed carabiners and you're using right-handed ones. If you want I can sell you some lefties

I love seeing “totem” on my cam.

Me too but what is our options? We can wait forever for the Basic with a Totem logo or we can grab one of the few very last Basic with a Kailas logo.

I hope this is a joke and you're just really committing to it....

Actually I’m a lefty and my biners are all lefties. However I’m looking for a harness with the legs loops on the top for a climb where you need to get inverted.

You've never tried opening a Petzl ball lock with your left hand, have you? ;)

I am beginning to think it is but then again this is Mountain Project and this would not be even close to the dumbest response to a question.

I'm quite sure that his most recent post indicates that he's having a bit of fun....

I don’t need any kailas as I have the entire set of totem basics including offsets.   I also have the entire set of regular totems.  I respect your grind and hustle, but I just prefer to stick with totems.

Associating offsets with aid isn’t accurate.  Cracks aren’t always parallel.

I keep LOLing at everyone associating offsets with aid climbing.  Pure comedy.

You do know Kailas and Totem are one in the same right?

No offense. You have said the Basics are your favorite so I new you already have a set. My comment was not for you. It was for the guy that read you and wants Basic. At the end, the only option for anyone that wants Basic is Kailas and it's for limited time.

Same thing.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
