Your statement makes no sense. No one ever forgets about gravity. Kinda impossible.

As Marc & others pointed out, just a fancier way to express the thought.

Whenever someone lays back but their tether isn't tied in, you can see it as forgetting about gravity and its implication for what you are currently doing. At the end of the day, all the locks & tethers we use to tie ourself to stuff constantly while climbing are just a way to make sure that is we do something stupid with regards to gravity, we still won't mess up too hard. Our attention spans are finite and not great at being constantly focus on a single item. Gravity never lets up. It's hard to think of another activity where there's such a constant, non-relenting force that never forgives.

If you play hockey and skate with your head down, you MAY get checked hard and end up with a concussion. But most likely you won't.....

Would god really pray? Wouldn’t that just be him talking to himself?

Even that is unreliable from a statistical standpoint as it relies on self-reporting for the most part.

Yeah, and if you're dead you're unlikely to report...

Lois: I can't believe he just walked off the edge.

Peter: Of course he did, Christians don't believe in gravity.

I don't - as a first season climber working through rope soloing multi-pitch, finding myself a bit nervous off route route yesterday during a hailstorm in more difficult territory than anticipated (still at an easy grade), the spirit of Tradiban was with me as I stayed calm and repeated the mantra to myself - "Just grab a hold, and pull it down to your dick." Before I knew it, it was sent. I've learned a lot about safe climbing from Tradiban's posts and trust the wealth of knowledge from experience found in them (and those of many of you), despite differences in opinions, attitudes and presentation. Thanks.

Speed...... get going really fast. The potential energy is huge. In racing, much like climbing, you cannot just “call timeout”...
Always surprised at the ignorance of some new bouldering types I see at Stoney- haven’t a clue as to what a 15 foot fall can do to your leg!
