Pete,

It is too many lines.  It’s a squeeze job.  The concern is not in squeezing BBW.  The problem is detracting from physical graffiti with bolts so close.  Please reconsider.  For the betterment of the whole community and the history of Physical Graffiti, please don’t let this beef with Dan cloud your judgement.  Be the better man

The bolting war & and many TRAD/sport folks say your wrong. Its close but not too close so... It goes in. And y'all can....

RR does not have a ‘bolting war’.

You could count on one hand the the number of people in Vegas with the skill/time to go up to riding hood and and chop/patch those climbs without anyone ever knowing ... and the only thing (I’m sure) that’s keeping them from bothering is because in all likelyhood it’s what you actually want to happen so you can validate this idea of a ‘bolting war’ or like the narrative you seem to spin of ‘Kentucky Pete saving RR from the climbing establishment and giving the people the climbs they want’

Sheesh, people. All of my 60+ years, if you have doubts about the "rightness" of something, and start justifying what you're doing? You are in the wrong.

Climbing development, specifically? Less is better. We need to restrain ourselves, rather than have the future be ashamed of the mess we made.

Hmm. On second thought? The last statement applied pretty broadly.

Best, OLH

In my opinion routes should be kept at least 15-20 feet apart in this multipitch area.

Yep, just like the yellow scrimmage lines during a Football game.

I've been up both of those. Waited an hour for BBW, which was a fantastic little naptime. There absolutely is no justification for a line between them, especially toward the top, just someone trying to have a dick measuring contest..

So... you'll talk about the line like it's yours, you'll defend the line to the death, but when the fact that the line has shit hardware and shit bolt placement is brought up you automatically refer the comment to the 20yr old who was in town from Utah with a drill and some junk hardware? If you knew the hardware was subpar why did you encourage him to put that shit in the wall? I'm pretty sure you don't even have a drill... No one lend Pete their drill, problem solved.

Its too many lines.

A developer has to have an eye on the future, not just of the routes themselves, but the base and walk offs, rap stations etc. You add those squeeze jobs and the base and approach trail are trashed scars in 10 years.

Just because it is possible to climb a section of rock does not mean the crag as a whole and the RR experience is enhanced by it.

Fact of the matter this sort of roadside development is only done because the lazy AF developer doesn't want to walk. The only one being done favors is himself.

I thought the Access Fund told me to fight development in RR?

For fudge sake, I BELAY. CLEAN, SUM1 else drills & then... WE FA.  what Max told me... I have bolted 'many lines ". (Found out aftrr...only  4) " I have bolts" As far as sub-stantarrd Bolts... Piss off! That hardware will be fine. MAX! A little more HUMILITY as we... ;-) & 2 whoever it may concern... How many climbs have u HELPED put up? In the last 28yrs... Have u given COLLEGE credit @ nyu for rock climbing... ? I have.  As far as BIG hikes... Put it up as a solo if it's under 5.8 and then there is no squeeze job?

A disability is no excuse for re-making RR for your own convenience.

However, you do get extra props when you put up non-squeeze jobs that are off the beaten path and not roadside.

And there you have it, really.

You should name a route "Narcissism, Who Me?"

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
