Hi MP community: a friend is visiting from nyc to climb west for the first time. We’re rained out in JTree — and it looks like everywhere nearby. The friend is flying out tomorrow night (Friday), and with the amount of rain today it’s unlikely JT will be dry by tomorrow. Everywhere nearby seems to be in a similar mess (ie rainy tomorrow in LA and SD, and red rocks is out too).
Any ideas?(We’re in JT right now and need to get to LAX by tomorrow)

I wouldn't be so sure you couldn't climb tomorrow.
Sunny crags especially in Indian Cove will likely be good to go. Faces will dry before cracks. Jtree doesn't have much of a dripping and seeping problem because there isn't much soil or vegetation atop most formations.
I'll there, in any case!

Joshua Tree is climbable immediately following rain. Unless the water is streaming from above or a crack is holding water, it will dry pronto. The forecast for this weekend in Joshua Tree is dry, but cold. Very cold!

you can climb in J-Tree almost immediately after it stops raining! If you wait tell the next day and its sunny or the breeze is blowing you are should be way good to go!

Thanks for the replies guys! My takeaway is, see how the rock looks tomorrow and have a go at it!
