Many think that you shouldn't encourage it.  You see all the responses that the original post generated.  I have never needed any encouragement & don't be scared, I'm not. I had thought that a few of those who had posted were still playful but clearly, I was wrong.  Interesting, only to myself, this post coincides with the first time I have fallen over in almost ten years.  I was lucky, saved by the same slick conditions that were also responsible for the fall. A  save & here too; that I got to take it down!

If single piton is all I've got, and the weather threatens hypothermia. Absolutely. I weigh under 140 lbs. Pays to be 5'8" and lean!

John Middendorf writes about him and Xavier raping of The Great Trango Tower off single Pitons.  I'd feel better if I placed them.

I'd back it up with 2 bolts

This is where a single “p” makes a huge difference. Stay in school kids!

I've rapped off a single stuck #4 hundreds of feet off the deck on a regular biner, no taped gate. I  dont necessarily recommend this but we are alive and i didnt have to pay him for a new #4.

Sounds like a gang rappel to me. He DID throw in an extra "L". That should be worth something.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
