The sun is setting so early this time of year. Is there anywhere to go for a quick bouldering fix after hours? Quiet and respectful, not a big group. Just interested in hucking a few laps with the headlamp.
Thanks! Daniel

Per a comment on the Kraft boulders page:
"Calico Basin is considered a day use area. Officially, you're not supposed to be in Kraft after dark and your vehicle would be subject to a fine or being towed, depending on the residents mood and the responding officer." Mar 7, 2016

Ah, thanks! I removed my suggestion.

I was hoping to do some night bouldering myself during the darker months once I move out there, but looks like no dice. But it's understandable because people live there and probably don't want to hear people grunting and yelling all night back in the boulders.

Other than Kraft, the only bouldering without a big approach is in Willow Springs inside the loop, which means you can't be there after hours so it's out. Otherwise you can go to the southern canyons but those are usually a pretty serious approach, I wouldn't want to do that in the dark.
I've heard of and seen plenty of people bouldering after dark at Kraft but officially it's prohibited. My suggestion would to check out Red Springs, just south of Kraft. Park outside the gate, which they close at the same loop hours. The boulders aren't any further than if you were parked in the lot and it's further from and houses and no official rules saying you can't park there. Check out the Turtle Boulder and others nearby it for plenty of entertainment just up the hill.
