What’s “movement” he keeps talking about?   Is that another climbing area with clean raps.

There's really only one way to properly clean a route for rappeling:

Holy fuck how did I not see it???  How many cool points did I lose?  Oh I'm so sad now.

Dave: And why is the route all filthy, Todd?
Tod: I don't KNOW, Dave.

This is the BEST thread I've seen in a MINUTE!

Can you imagine him rapping in RedRocks? lol

This Guy- "Why did the First Ascenderist not BREAK all these edges my rope is catching on?!?"

This is not an unreasonable request at all.

Infact this is why I pour several 5 gallon buckets of glue over any rap route I create. I've also taken to painting white lines on either side of climbing routes I develop (like a highway) so that people can very clearly tell what is on and off route.

Thanks for bringing up this incredibly important topic!

All you need to do is climb up and haul a couple gallons of gas / lighter fluid and lighter with you. When you get to the top pour it all out and set it on fire!

What a bunch o' trollers and poseurs!  Anyone with real experience knows that brushing is never adequate and that nothing short of a good shower will do:

However, if brushing is the only alternative, then the Little Gem Rappel Brush is required.  Clip these babies to your harnesses and get busy developers!

All joking aside, there's an epidemic of unbrushed rappels.  For example, what the hell were the developers thinking when they left this one as-is?

I didn’t want to say it, but I had a feeling Dave was a rapist. Along with Tod, Mike, and Squi.

Let's just hope he real rgold doesn't come back with more of those interminable posts that no one reads anyway.

The Faux Rgold occasionally posts humor in other places, e.g. http://www.supertopo.com/tr/The-First-Ascent-of-the-Needles-Eye/t222n.html and http://www.supertopo.com/climbers-forum/996070/The-Saga-of-the-Triple-Lever-A-Trippy-Report .

This thread reminds me of what drew me to MP originally: that guy in Moro Bay bay that got rescued via heli. I loved that thread more than my children.

Nailed it!

As one of the people that put up that final pitch of Playin Hooky many a year ago: (1) OP I have no idea what you are talking about and (2) this is the most entertaining thread I've seen on MP in a long time. Cheers!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
