I am cursed with many and various vociferous opinions. My partners, however, tend to be entertained by the same, and have on many occasions recommended that I start a podcast.
I have always wanted to be sponsored by NatureBox and Meundies, so I think I'm going to do it. Hence I'm putting out feelers to see what people would want in yet another climbing podcast in an oversaturated market.
Episodes will be no longer than 45 minutes because I can't stand slogging through a 1:55 of bloatware, most of which is hosts blathering on about the nature of podcasting as an inchoate brave new medium.
What do you look for in an adventure podcast? What guests would you be interested in hearing from? What topics would make you sit in the car for an extra three minutes upon arriving at your destination so that you could finish the episode?
Thanks in advance for your feedback and premonitions of impending maperasure (ygd!!!).

Just for kicks and giggles include move-by-move beta for some of the local climbs. Not necessarily stellar routes ;)

Your list sounds engaging to me. Do a good job, and the story will hold it's own. My fave is the Firn Line. Mountaineering, which I don't give a shit about, but, the stories are almost always about people, and the guests have been very candid and humble. The settings and events are far from ordinary, but anyone can relate to the deep bonds formed in these partnerships, and the lengths people went, to take care of each other when it hits the fan.
Good recording equipment, good editing, a sense of story (even reviews can do that), good music.
Best of luck, Fritz! H.

I want a cut of all the sighs, low volume curses, and mumbling from any climb so I can try and picture what it was like, then post the route at some point after.

I get aggravated by the lack of editing in a lot of podcasts in general. If this muthafugga launches, it's going to be as clean and tight as an obscene metaphor. "Ramble on" is best as a Led Zep song, not an M.O. for podcasters.

+1 for the firn line. Evans editing is top notch and all of his music is original which adds a lot I think.

One thing that fascinates me... And "Ooh, it makes me wonder". What was going through your head when you named that route? In other words, why did you pick that name for that route? Talk to people about their route names.
