Is there a difference between 1st and 2nd generations? 

I own both and the only difference is that the 1st gen (left) have deep notches and the 2nd gen (right) have cross hatches that aren’t so deep. I don’t see any other difference at all

OP, one possible issue is that a 50% off coupon code for all Kailas gear was posted on MP awhile ago, so folks can get 3 basics for $120 new from the manufacturer. Unfortunately you might need to either wait til that coupon expires (it’s been going for awhile, might be a long time til then), or offer them for less than the manufacturer’s price to get them to sell. That, and the fact that I’m broke, is why I personally haven’t bitten yet.

The only differences are that the threads on cam lobes have changed and they have slightly different branding

These things are literally cheaper coming from the manufacturer, as another person pointed out. probably better off trading than selling for cash until the deal ends.
