Resolers?

John Ramuta is in Montana now, but his resoles are absolutely top-notch. I used a few other resolers previously, and quality was mixed, but they've always come back from Ramuta like new. He's even done fabric repairs on a few pairs where he noticed issues (eyelet stitches coming loose, thin spots or holes from jamming). I'm sure others do a good job as well, but I'll be sending my shoes to Ramuta as long as his doors are open. |

Another +1 for Yosemite Bum. They also just started offering their newer edging rubber, Trax XE, as an option for resoles in addition to their regular Trax SAS for no extra price. I have not tried Trax XE yet, but I will be sending in my Astromans to get resoled with it soon. Having tried stealth Onyxx before, it will be neat to see how it compares now that Onyxx isn't available for resoling. |

I can't recommend the Gear Room for a resole. I had them resole a pair of TCs and the shoe came back with an entirely different forefoot shape and almost a whole size bigger. I understand TCs can be difficult to resole. Will be purchasing a new pair of TCs to replace the ones I had resoled by the gear room. I can probably wear socks with this pair now, though :) |

I've had several pairs of TC's done at Rock n Resole and have always been happy with the results. |

Pro Deal Resoles have always been great to me. http://www.resoleclimbingshoes.com Quick turnaround and I think cheaper than Rock and Resole. |

and yes cheaper than rock and resole. Only $25 for a resole. |

The Gear Room resoled my near-dead shoes with a speedy turnaround and a pro job. Thanks for the recommendations, I'll use these guys again for sure! |

Yo everyone, Dave Berumen at Flophouse Resoles in Joshua Tree may be the most talented resoler around. Link to his website here. He has really turned climbing shoe resoling into an art, hit him up! |

Helen , as I recall, we were posting at the same moment. Then, now, I came back to add the link to Positive Resoles - - - - ---seriously |

Can't help but chime in here. DO NOT let the gear room work on your shoes. I have personally let them resole 4 paris of climbing shoes, and have seen a fair amount of their work. Not one of them was anywhere near the quality of workmanship you get from yosemite bum or rock and resole, and cost just as much. They are fast, I will give them that, but what you get back isn't worth keeping. |

I had a really bad experience at Tahoe gripworks, I would avoid if possible. I sent in a pair of TC pro's, and they came back with a crumple in the soles of both feet in the toebox, reducing their size and making them unclimbable. My friends were sending in a bunch of shoes, so I figured I'd give this place another chance. Of the four shoes we sent in, Chris couldn't resole one of them and the other pair, a brand new pair of Oatkis, he took the sole off, poked a pencil through, then tried to throw them away. Understandably, some shoes are beyond repair, but most resolers will send the shoe back, not destroy them and throw them away. I recommend going with Yosemite bum or Rubber room, both of whom I've been getting high quality resoles from for years. |

Positive Resoles is my go to resoler. I’ve been using them for more than a decade and find no reason to send my shoes anywhere else. Excellent work from a business I know I can trust! |
