Hello everyone!

Me and a couple buddies are planning on driving up to Thatcher on Sunday 5.13 to enjoy a day of climbing. We’re looking for a fourth so we could set 2 routes at each stop. Anyone interested?

We’re pretty laid back, probably focusing on 5.8 to easy 5.10s, plenty of experience leading and belaying. We leave at 6am from Manhattan and will head back before or after dinner in the area.

Basic requirements:- to know how to lead- be a responsible belayer
- no gear is needed besides harness/shoes
- no drama
We each chip in for gas, usually comes out to $10-20 a person.

Yeah they have enough 7s 8s 9s and 10a's to do a day or weekend. Also a great deal of the ratings are Western sport rated, not east coast sandbagged, so the 10a's are on the easy side. The 10cs an above were made by guys who climb more at the Gunks and a lot of those routes tend to be harder than rated.

How was Thatcher?

It was great! It's a bit farther from the Gunks but definitely worth it if you just want to sport lead instead of trad/TR.

Yeah its nice to have options now, closer than rumney.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
