Small Hard Lump on Back of Hand

So this is a much more minor issue than most in this forum.

Anyhow, roughly 6 weeks ago, in one of my several attempts to send Tideline (which, as an aside, is by far the hardest 11a crack I've tried in Yosemite. I don't care what anyone in the comments says), I wound up hanging with almost all my weight on a particularly painful handjam; it hurt so bad I had to say take. It felt like my entire body was suspended on a sharp crystal poking into the second metacarpal, just below the knuckle. You know, the handjam area that gets scarred up on thin hands cracks. And this was through my OR crack gloves.

Driving home, I noticed some swelling on the painful spot. This swelling congealed over a couple days into a small hard lump, about the size of your normal zit, that hasn't gotten bigger or smaller since. It's not painful (I gave Tideline another go the next week, with only slightly better results but no pain) and attempts to pop it like a zit have not been fruitful.

Is this lump just going to be a part of me now? Anyone had something like this before? Any risk of it rupturing or becoming cancerous? Maybe it'll just go away eventually?

I could totally see that happening on tideline with a couple of those more make or break jams. I'd be interested to hear if someone has a diagnosis for this, cause I've had similar things happen before .

Did they eventually go away or do you have permanent hand-lumps?

I have had those before in the exact way you described. They are gone now. Don't really remember them disappearing but it was over a long period of time.

Sounds like a ganglion cyst but it's hard to make a diagnosis without a picture or palpation of the bump.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
