MP name change?

So, I get that we're encouraged to use our real full names here, but for various reasons I'd prefer not to. However, the system seems to keep arbitrarily change my user name to my real full name without me changing it on my end. When I change it back, all of my old posts are still under the name I don't want here. Is that some kind of facebook interface bug?

Although Nick Wilder will probably see this, you should send this to him directly via PM.

Pretty sure this is a new bug.  Looking into it.  We're not supposed to overwrite your name when you log in with Facebook.

I also just joined Trail Run Project yesterday, could that have tickled something in the system?

I don’t think it’s new. I recall this behavior happening several months ago when I logged in with Facebook a few times. I thought it was just undesirable UX but not a bug.

Agreed, I think this has happened to me randomly before and I would just change it back so I could continue shit talking, but something about it being Friday and the beer fridge is empty made it the last straw.

While we are asking Nick questions...

How come we can’t click on profile pictures and blow them up large??

I’m feeling like I am missing out on seeing Slim’s true stick figure!

Just fixed this so you won't have to worry about it happening anymore. Old posts might display your Facebook name if the thread page was viewed and cached on our end, but that will clear itself out as our page caches expire (a week from the time the page was cached).

Don't you mean you clicked on momoface's profile and were bummed you couldn't zoom in on the boobies?

She’s got nothing on my Slim!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
