Greetings! I'm traveling in France this summer and am looking to climb for 4 or 5 days while I'm there. I was thinking about Font to boulder because it would mean carrying less gear but I would visit other areas as well, especially if you have gear. I'm open to the possibilities!

Sport lead up to 5.11a
New to trad leading, (5.7) but have lots of experience following
I've lead sport multipitch and followed trad multipitch

Cheers!

I wont be around at the time but I can tell you that font could be very very hot! I had 38C in June last year, which i think is over 100F??

If you go, be prepared to search out the shady areas and get up early. It's world famous for a reason though, and well worth trying out!

Your other option is to get to the mountains; Chamonix, Haute Provence, Ailefroude (or however you spell it), Ariege and so on. Plenty of good summer climbing in the south end of the country! There are some other threads on here where people are looking for partners, or you can try UKClimbing.

Best of luck!

Shannon,
Are your dates flexible or fixed?

I’m looking for a partner to climb at Presles, Grenoble, France from 7/13 to 7/16.
