Current best places to get resoled

Hey I know there is at least one thread from 8 years ago on the best place to get shoes resoled but I was hoping for some more up to day opinions. I was thinking of either using Rock and resole or New England resole. I also talked to someone who mentioned the rubber room, but know very little about them. I was leaning towards New England resole until I heard that they were going through some changes recently and it might have impacted their quality, but that information might have been out of date.

If it makes a difference to anyone's opinion I was going to get my solutions resoled and have never had shoes resoled before.

I've had a few pairs resoled through Yosemite Bum and had nothing but good experiences. My Shamans even lasted longer than they did out of the box after a resole.

Had mine redone at R&R last summer. I live in Boulder, so it was convenient, but it was a fairly fast turn-around and the guys were super friendly and helpful. Got me my shoes a day early since I could just pop in and grab them after they were done.

I think the reality is most of the big resole places do a quality job. Hard to get a bad resole these days.  I’ve used a few of the big resole places including locker (now positive resolves)  R&R etc.

Ian, the owner and the guy who will be working on your shoes, was just here in Tucson for several weeks doing resole work for our community and he absolutely crushed it.  I personally had a pair done as did many of our gym staff and the craftsmanship was amazing.

If he happens to be passing through your neck of the woods save on shipping and have Ian do the work.  You will be totally happy, and you'll be saving your shoes that need a resole until the next time he is nearby.

The Rubber Room, they have a long wait right now.

Yosemite Bum does an awesome job and their turn around time is insanely fast.  I got my shoes back on my doorstep in 6 days from the day I mailed them out.  Their prices are also excellent, but the only drawback is they only offer Trax rubber.  It's excellent rubber, but if you're dead set on Stealth or Vibram, then it's probably a deal breaker.

Also, I used Crescent Resoler back in January and the resole was great as well.  Highly recommend them if you want Stealth C4.

On the subject, do all resolers use the same materials?  What are their differences?

I'll second that on Yosemite Bum being ridiculously fast and doing great work. A bit cheaper than comparable places

What happened? I haven't sent anything to the RR in a while, but they USED to do an outstanding job. Tony Puppo was a decent guy 10 years ago...

I'll give another shout out for Onsight resoles and Ian. Best resole i've had in 10 years of having shoes done.  

Don't sent your shoes to Dave Page Cobbler in Seattle. In my experience, he's a grump who does lousy resoles. So many good options out there though (I usually go with Rock and Resole).

The Rubber Room does a great job. Current turnaround time is 6 weeks, though.

I sent in three pairs of shoes, 2 TCs and 1 Scarpa Techno X. The techno X's delaminated after 1 use and 1 set of the TCs were resoled in a way that altered the volume of the toe box so that I couldn't even wear the shoes anymore. I also asked for different types of rubber on the 2 TCs and they didn't mark which was which.. When I contacted them I felt they weren't that friendly dealing with me and also didn't offer any sort of shipping compensation. Just overall wasn't too happy with my experience. They did fix the two pairs of shoes for free after I paid to ship them back myself but the quality was so-so.
