I've got new and old. Gotta say I prefer the older set. The 'updates' don't really climb technical ice well enough to forgo real ice tools for technical climbs, and just don't feel as handy for general mountaineering. I don't really want longer, spikey picks and the weird hammer and adze angles for most mountain travel. Your mileage may vary...

I bought a set of the old ones when I saw the new ones come out. Thought this would be the case.
