What's that one video where the dude is on the ground, tries placing an over-cammed #3 then completely skips his #2 and goes to tipped-out #1, has his sling knotted, then laybacks the whole crack and almost craters when he falls? I think that guy and this guy need to hook-up.

It was a weekend whipper on Roadside Attraction in RRG. The guy whipped and inverted, came up about 2 feet short of the deck, and high-fived his belayer.

Here's the link to the thread, but it looks like the vid has been taken down: https://www.mountainproject.com/forum/topic/113205489/weekend-whipper-trad-at-rrg

Edit: found the clip on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=278&v=RK6TWymKHx8

"Do you usually extend the first peice?"

"It's for rope drag bro"

-___-

the failure to correctly guess the pro size twice was good enough, but then pulling out a knotted sling? god, so good.

That is one of the worst things I have ever seen on the internet.

I made my girlfriend watch it with me last night and she was practically yelling at the computer screen! “No no no just no!”I led with I have this absolutely horrifying video to show you; it’ll make your palms sweat. I enjoyed it more the second time because I wasn’t worried I was going to watch him fall and die!

Lol, yeah, it's every bit as good as I remember. I can't even believe that #2 at 3:19 held the fall. His belayer is all like, "wtf you putting that gear here for, ahh okay; wtf you doing laybacking, put your feet in the crack; put in some pro you're close to falling" and the dude just keeps doing his own shit-show. Belayer shouldn't have relented like he did, but still the dude is alive and walking because of his belayer.

At least the other guy was sewing it up, even if it was desperate.

Actually he’s alive because his belayer was using an assisted device. Belayer totally lets go of the brake!!

And the brake hand is UP by the rope.  No assisted brake and the rope would've pulled right through his hands!  Doh!

and your comment it totally irrelevant to the thread, no one was seeking your opinion of GpPro on Youtube.

His comments got quite a few "likes."

I happened across it looking for something specific. But some you tube vids are like watching a slow motion train wreck. Entertaining in an agonizin way. Like this one:  watch the first half.  It’s amazing and could be used as an instructional video.  Of how NOT to execute a lead!

I just watched all of this and literally felt more nervous than watching someone free solo..... How does one find a partner willing to trust this amount of incompetence?

We need a new thread to roast go-pro you tube vids that have the comments disabled. When I watched the guy on gingerbread, it brought up some other videos that we're equally as horrifying.

This thread has generated just such a thread ( Thnx  to David once of Brooklyn, but Moving to the rock)
