Moore's Wall Climbing Area Access from Top Trail?

Does anyone have any advice on the best route from the Moore's Wall Loop Trail down to the climbing area.  I realize you can drive around but I'm looking for a hiking route from the Hanging Rock camp ground. 

The Climbers Guide to North Carolina (1995) by Thomas Kelly says to hike up the Moore's Wall Loop Trail and then at a large boulder to turn down into a gully to descend between the Amphitheater and the Main Wall.  

Where is Thomas Kelly's 'Large Boulder' in relation to the Balanced Rock?

The gully is the standard way that climbers use to access the Meat Puppet Crag from the main climbing areas but I don't know of anyone who uses it to come in from the camp ground so it would probably be hard to find from the Loop Trail due to the lack of an established trail. If this is not a one time thing your best bet would be to go up the gully like you were going to the Meat Puppet crag and see where it intersected the Loop Trail.

It's been a really long time since I've hiked down that way so the details may be fuzzy in my head! If you're hiking the Moore's wall loop trail from the campground you will pass the short trail that takes you to the fire tower. Not long after that there is an overhanging prow of rock that is close to or possibly overhanging the trail itself. Turn right there and I believe you will be on the trail you are looking for. With some exploration you could also find a trail well before you reach the fire tower on your right that takes you down to the base of the Last Wall at Moore's. 

Meat puppet gully is fairly well established these days and should be easy to find. AJ's directions are spot on. The last wall gully is a little harder to find and if your plan is to go to the amphitheater, central wall, or sentinel buttress it is much quicker to go there via the meat puppet gully.
