$7,900! That's a great deal for a head gasket blowing rig with 180,000+ miles!

For my sake... hopefully he gets it!  I'll take, somewhat, less for my 1990 pickup DLX with a brand new engine from 22re performance and an OEM transmission with 40K miles.

Granted it could use a paint job, but it is rust free!

As a huge 4Runner fan (I own a 4th gen OME lifted T4R), am I missing something here? Blue book is $2100 in good shape.

Used Yota price should be based on what it can do and how long it will last.

$2100 is what I would expect to pay for a 1998 Honda Civic that is original with that kind of mileage on it.

That's unreasonable for a Yota with a good prognosis for the next few years when $15k is what one can expect to pay to get into a newer used 4wd Toyota (~2005+)

Money is worth less than it was in 2000.  No idea what this rig is actually worth without seeing it and knowning how the head gaskets were done etc, but in the end it's worth whatever someone will pay for it and guaranteed $2100 is waay low if it's mechanically sound.

Good point though that classic Yotas are a terrible investment if they get totaled and someone else is at fault.

You guys are great! And, with exception of Simon, obviously don't know anything about classic, factory stock Toyota trucks! I've flipped and sold a half a dozen of these in the front range, don't you know where we live?! It's not a poor mans game!

Also, it's the cleanest 2nd gen out there... prove me wrong!

Maybe prices are just that much higher in the front range than they are in SoCal. Could probably make a business out of bringing clean SoCal ones to CO if that thats the case.

Too bad they are both automatic trannys, otherwise they could have gotten much more for them...

I have traveled to buy and sell in this area before. Thanks to CA for sending all of their rich college kids to Boulder for college. That being said, I also get a lot of rust belt folks coming to me to purchase, closer than CA.
