Ancient Art Christmas Tree - Common Sense Applies

have you ever hung out on the taco? Andy had a meltdown and said a bunch of really weird bad shit on an online forum. Not supriseing considering how small his penis is and the fact that he wore diapers to the superbowl. over on Supertaco that shit happens daily. ocasionally someone gets banned but the thought that folks can get locked up for an on line rant is somewhat disturbing in a big brother kind of way..... |

Nick Goldsmith wrote: But it wasn't just a rant. As Jason said above: "...he asked for people to sexually assualt specific individuals in a small town." That's advocating/urging/inciting felony violence and harm. The laws against that apply on-line now as well. Just like libel law and stalking law. |

Nick Goldsmith wrote: Nick, I get your concern, but the huge difference is naming, and threatening, specific individuals. Agreed, just being an all purpose ass shouldn't be cause for arrest. Suggesting sexual assaults against named individuals? I hope his ass is kicked up around his ears. YMMV. OLH |

Old lady H wrote: I think you may have just committed a crime. You just advocated that felony assault (ass kicking around ears, which inherently would cause serious bodily injury) be committed against a specific individual (Sketchy Andy) who lives in a small town (not quite sure what that has to do with anything, but that seems to be an element of the "crime" in some people's minds). Be interesting to get the Moab city prosecutor's view on this--perhaps OLH has some defense to the crime, but I'm having a hard time distinguishing it from Sketchy's crime (unless it's a defense to advocate violence against people who may deserve it). |

With fame comes responsibility. It's one the to be a huge asshole that nobody really cares about, but it's entirely different to be a huge asshole when your career is to be a representative of a sport and a role model for people to imitate. Your famous, that means the people actually give a shit what you say and do, and you've got a whole lot of people watching your every move. I'm not saying that it's okay to be an asshole if you aren't famous but the reality is that, when you are famous, there is a lot more incentive to do something about it and a whole lot more people who are aware and willing to do something. IMO he got what was coming to him. I hope he learns his lesson while the stakes are still relatively low (ie not a felony, first offence, etc.). It's quite disappointing to see somebody with such potential go down this kind of path. |

why would we be supprised about this? his weinie is all over you tube....... and he wore diapers to the super bowl... Still think is a slippery slope to charge people for social media rants. Lady H just proved my point. heck if we are going to lock folks up for internet rants we should start with the Orange president..... |

don't get me wrong I think he is a complete ahole but also think that it is a slippery slope ..... |

Nick Goldsmith wrote: Guess I should have said, "if convicted of his alleged illegal behavior by a jury of his peers, get his butt kicked up around his ears", lol. Even rhymes. I don't disagree with you about the slippery slope. Back in the threads that shall not see the light of day again period, I was one who argued against banning people. Free speech, yeah, but sooner or later, some of the heated arguments actually got somewhere useful. Or, netted something ridiculously witty. And, I say that as one who has been on the receiving end a time or two. Smarts like hell, but I'd far rather have conversations with real people. Who sometimes are asses. But mostly not. Best, H. |

from you link. Spoken words alone will not be enough of an act to constitute an assault unless the offender backs them up with an act or actions that put the victim in reasonable fear of imminent harm. so ranting on facebook is worse than ranting verbaly? |

Nick Goldsmith wrote: Crazy talk on the corner compared to international hate speech, yeah, seems a bit more harsh to me. Some bros need to step back from their full time bro-mances once in a while. |

Certainly sounds that way. Once you put something in writing, you are basically creating a paper trail. Plus you get a ton of witnesses, especially if you are a public person like Andy. |

I've been seeing so much of this over the past year or two. Not that I enjoy reading Andy's comments, but it is his right to say them. Everyone's response on here is their right to call him out on that bullshit. Hes not sending the online equivalent of a nasty letter signed in blood. If I missed something, please inform me. I'd rather be wrong than ignorant. |

Yea i find it disturbing that the law was involved in Andy being a complete ass hat on the inter net. If there was a patern of threats yes. if he ranted once or twice and then deleted its kind of creepy to call the cops INMOP.. If he has a history of violence againts women and makes a threat different story. If he is just an asshole running his mouth it seems mighty big brother to come down with the law..... |

How does FiveTen put up with him? Are they seriously okay with their "athletes" spewing garbage like this? |

"Slap them in the face and grab them by the pussy." He should have spent more time campaigning for president and less time climbing. |
