Hey friends,

I'll be in Carbondale for the 5 Point Film Festival the third week of April and I want to see if I can get a little sport climbing in. My driving schedule is flexible but I'm aiming to be around the area Thursday April 20th for most of the day, I'll also be free Friday and Sunday mornings I think for some more Carbondale local stuff. I can generally lead mid 5.10's and could follow harder. Could stand to have a little whipper therapy. In know Rifle isn't the most 10 abundant location, but I was eyeing the Ice Cave walls. I was also looking at The Narrows south of Carbondale.  Any other things to check out or look at?

I am also keeping an eye on the weather. I know it's supposed to be a little rainy on Thursday, but maybe not too bad? Does anyone have perspective on how much rain might affect the rock?

Rock on,

Peter

The Narrows dries out quickly and tends to stay dry even during days with scattered thunderstorms. It is a fun venue. Pick up a copy of the Western Sloper Guidebook, Thompson Creek is another local crag that is tons of fun. I hope you enjoy your time at the festival!

Hey Peter,

I'm down for some new climbing partners. I live in the area, but the weather isn't looking good for Wed,thurs, Fri. The narrows is granitic so it dries fast. There are lots of options, hopefully we can send some routes

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
